Have you noticed how busy everyone is? We love being busy, because our society thinks that being busy is the best form of productivity. The busier, the better. But with what are we so busy with?
Our businesses and workplaces are a type of laziness that is stopping us of focusing on the things we appreciate the most. Things like health, family, friends and passions. Do we really need to be that busy? How many of us are doing things, just because the other people do it? Would be nice to have some time to rest? If the answer is yes, read these 5 ideas for slowing down the pace of your daily life.
1. Work less
Is there really a necessity for that much work? Do you really need to spend that much money on things that you don’t even need? When you discard some of these things (state of the art smart phones, computers, and cars) and make some room for the things you really need, there would be plenty of money left. So there is no need to work that much.
2. Be conscious
With what are you so busy with? When you don’t know what you are trying to accomplish, you are in constant race by managing the urgent matters and you keep joggling the chores in your life. Life is so much easier if you are conscious of what are you trying to accomplish.
3. Learn to say “No”
I am sure you have the best intentions when you are taking responsibilities more than the necessary. When you know what is important in your life, saying “No” to the other things will become much easier.
Multitasking isn’t an effective way of working. Actually, that is the perfect way to do more in a less efficient way. Ask yourself what are the 3 most important tasks for today, and do them one by one.
5. It’s OK if you don’t finish all the tasks
Your work will never be completely done. The sooner you realize that you will always have stuff to do, the easier will be for you to accept the fact that something is left unfinished. You will no longer feel the need to finish everything all the time.
